Last week's weather presented quite a challenge. We were fortunate not to lose power like many others. The snow and icy roads were our biggest obstacles.
Our drivers performed like rock stars, and in some cases, walking was more challenging than driving. Adversity reveals character, and our drivers stepped up without complaint. Our bike messenger even braved slippery ice-covered sidewalks downtown to complete deliveries. Just as I thought Friday was winding down, a client called with an urgent request. Due to a mix-up in the delivery details provided to us, there was an ever so slight divergence in the destination of a recent delivery. My immediate reaction was "No problem, easy fix." Fortunately, the location where the package was initially delivered was just a short distance from where I happened to be. I assured the client that it was not a problem and requested the new address to promptly rectify the situation. "The new address is in Government Camp," the client replied. I clarified, "Government Camp, as in Mt Hood Government Camp?" "Yes," they confirmed. All right then! I checked the road conditions and entered the address into my navigation system. The drive had its share of tension. The closer I got to Government Camp, the more the snow covered the roads. As I approached the delivery location, however, the weather cleared up and the sun peeked through the clouds, casting a beautiful glow on the snow. It was a satisfying way to end the week. Good morning,
We hope you are staying warm on this chilly morning. We want to update you on our operations for today. While the main roads are expected to thaw out first later this afternoon, we need to consider that neighborhoods and side streets may take a bit longer to become safe for navigation. That being said, we are optimistic about resuming our normal operations sometime this afternoon. We are closely monitoring the situation and are ready to spring into action as soon as conditions permit. Your safety, along with that of our driver, remains our top priority, and we are committed to resuming deliveries as soon as it is safe to do so. Should you have any specific questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us. We are here to assist you. Thank you for your understanding and continued trust in our services. We look forward to serving you again very soon. Stay safe and warm, Bill, Stacey and the entire On-Time Delivery Crew. We hope you're having a great Martin Luther King Day!
If you're off, we hope you're making the most of it. We're open for business as always, ready to assist with any delivery needs you might have. With the snow and ice not fully melted, the roads are still a bit tricky. So, if you have a delivery request, we might need a little extra time. Have a great day! Best, Bill, Stacey, and the entire On-Time Delivery Crew. |
