As we end week 3 of quarantine, we want to take this time to say THANK YOU to our health care workers and first responders. We would also like to thank our amazing drivers who have been going above and beyond to ensure that your deliveries are getting done safely. Also, Stacey and I are so very grateful for all your support. We feel truly blessed with every order we get. With so many businesses closed and people out of work, we feel so incredibly lucky to still be able to provide for ourselves, our family, and our drivers. Thank you. Bill and Stacey Lehman

In the interest of health, safety and peace of mind of everyone. We are asking that all residential pickups be left on the front porch. We are happy to call or text upon arrival so you don't have to leave them out indefinitely.
For those deliveries going to residences we are going to Ring and Run. That means we will leave the order in a safe place and ring the doorbell and run. (Not literally run). Again we are happy to call or text upon arrival so the order is not left unattended for too long. George H.W. President Trump has declared Wednesday, Dec. 5, a national day of mourning to honor former President George H.W. Bush ahead of his state funeral in Washington, D.C. While a day of mourning is rare, generally observed after the death of a president – the last one was on Jan. 2, 2007 on the day of Gerald Ford’s funeral – a lot of services are affected, including the closures of the federal government and financial markets. According to the White House website, the American flag will be displayed at “half-staff at the White House and on all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions for a period of 30 days from the day of his death.” Thank you to all those who have served our country. The Great Traffic Apocalypse will begin on July 8th! As if traffic wasn't bad enough. Starting July 8th and running through August there will be major roadwork on I-5 and I-84. The most disruptive project will require “around the clock” closures of three of the bridges connecting Interstate 5 and Interstate 84. One bridge will close at a time, and the bridge connecting I-5 northbound to I-84 eastbound won’t be closed during the day. But the closures will last for two weeks or more. The Oregon Department of Transportation is predicting heavy delays.They actually suggest that if you can, you should take this time off for vacation during the construction period. Since taking a 6 week vacation isn’t an option for most of us. We will have to deal with it. We won't really know the effect on traffic until it happens but it's a good guess, given the current state of rush hour traffic, that it’s going to suck! We are going to implement the following in order to help insure that your orders get done on time and on schedule.
If you could allow for additional time for orders coming in and out of those areas that would be greatly appreciated. We will let you know as the date of the Apocalypse gets closer. Night time work begins in June 2018 and will continue until fall 2019. Expect night time lane closures for paving work on I-5, including paving exit and entrance ramps, replacing the median barrier, upgrading sidewalks, improve signage and upgrade ADA ramps. The following full closures of I-5 are scheduled to occur in July and August over four full weekends. Southbound I-5 will be fully closed between the Fremont and Marquam Bridges on the following two weekends:
What Travelers Can Do
 2018 SHAMROCK RUN PORTLAND SUNDAY MARCH 18th at Waterfront Park 35000 runners will hit the streets (many hungover from St Patty’s Day) to run or walk anywhere from a 5k to a half marathon. For those of us with a bad knee or common sense, that don’t want to run for miles in the cold and rain, here are some things to do that won’t require tights and running shoes. 1. Annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival, Portland, OR Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Portland by attending the All-Ireland Cultural Society of Oregon’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival. This family friendly event features performances by several Irish dance troupes, children’s activities, traditional food and beverages, and a raffle. 2. Paddy’s Bar and Grill, Portland, OR A street party featuring bagpipers, Irish bands, and outdoor food tents combine to make this annual event a favorite among Portland residents and visitors. This event is family friendly until 9:30 p.m. Proceeds from this event are donated to the Children’s Cancer Society. 3. St. Agatha St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival, Portland, OR Middle school marching bands, bagpipers, children on festively festooned bikes and wagons, and shepherd’s pie and corned beef and cabbage combine to make this parade and festival a well-loved event in the Sellwood/Moreland neighborhood of Portland. A children’s carnival with entertainment awaits participants and bystanders at the end of the parade, while adults can raise a glass of Guinness to the spirit of the day in the nearby beer garden. 4. Kells Irish Festival, Portland, OR Portland loves its Kells Irish Pub so much that one location isn’t enough, so lucky residents and visitors get to choose between two locations. Dancing, piping, feasting, and general revelry can be found at each one when St. Patrick’s Day is in the picture. Just like one Kells isn’t enough, one day isn’t enough either, so expect to enjoy four full days of Irish fun. Sunday is family day, with face painting, children’s activities, soccer, arts-and-crafts, and an appearance by the famous Kells furry friends, the Irish wolfhounds. Many of you don’t use the online ordering system which is great. We love talking to everyone that calls in. But if instead of wondering if your delivery has been completed or having to call back to get confirmation you will just have to check your email.
This just gives you a little peace of mind and saves you time in the event that the person receiving the delivery can’t find it. Instead of calling, you just have to check your inbox. The email contains all the details of the order and the name and exact time it was delivered. If you primarily phone orders in and would like to start receiving an email confirmation please let us know the next time you call in. Unfortunately for phone in orders the system can only send an email to one email address. |
